Privacy
Private because there's nothing to collect.
Tonight has no account, so it has no idea who you are. Here is exactly what stays on your device and what leaves it.
No account, no sign-up
There is no login and no profile. We have no server that stores anything about you, because there is nothing to store.
Your list stays on your device
Your watchlist, custom lists, watched marks, recent searches, release reminders and cached artwork are kept on the iPhone or iPad you're holding. They don't sync to another device. Delete the app and they're gone.
What does leave your device
- Tonight asks The Movie Database (TMDB) for titles, artwork and search results.
- When you choose to play a trailer, it loads from YouTube.
- That's all.
The full privacy policy says the same thing at slightly greater length.
Questions
The things a careful person would ask.
Is Tonight really free?
Yes. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no in-app purchase. The whole app is the free app.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Open the app and start browsing.
Where does the film and TV information come from?
From The Movie Database (TMDB), a community-maintained database of films and television. Streaming availability comes from TMDB via JustWatch; it is indicative, depends on your region, and can lag behind the services themselves.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Can I watch films inside Tonight?
No. Tonight is for deciding, not streaming. It plays trailers, tells you where a title is available in your region, and keeps your list. The watching happens on the service that carries the film.
Does my watchlist sync between my iPhone and my iPad?
No. Your watchlist lives only on the device where you made it. That is what keeps it private, and it also means deleting the app deletes the list. There is no cloud copy to restore from.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad running iOS 26 or later. Nothing else for now.
When does it come out?
Soon, and we would rather not print a date we might miss. The App Store link will appear on this page the day it goes live. Questions in the meantime: support@rhinebird.com.

Why we built it.
You know the evening. Everyone is on the sofa, someone has the remote, and forty minutes later you are still scrolling through tiles you have already scrolled past. The decision is the hard part, and the apps made for watching were never built for it.
Tonight is only the decision. The trailer, the rating and the streaming badge in one place, a list that is yours, and no account standing between you and the film. When you've picked something, our job is done and we get out of the way.
